About me

I’m Paul and I have a love for both the outdoors and photography.

I use photography to try and tell a story and portray a feeling of my experiences, often when I’m out there’s a sense of isolation, often travelling by myself in a world that contains only me and my camera. I hope my work allows others to share these adventures.

My work consists of a mix of Digital and Film Photography, I developed a passion for black and white film photography during the 1990’s and this has continued with me to this day, there is something more satisfying about the challenge of having to get the image right in the camera than manipulating an image in Photoshop. I love the unpredictability and imperfections that film photography brings, the experimentation and not knowing that come’s with a medium that’s not instant.

Photography has allowed me to experience so much, watching the sunrise and sunset over everything from city streets, to the mountains and the sea.

Ever since I was young I’ve had an interest in the night skies, so when I found out that I was able to combine this with my love of photography, it’s allowed me to spend many a night in the spring and autumn months tring to capture the milkyway within the North Pennines.

I was hoping to spend the spring of 2020 working on some new Projects, but unfortunatly these have now been delayed.

Hopefully in the next 12 months my work will progress beyond selling prints as I
